Identify your strengths and weaknesses. Seek out a business partner who can complement you. You want someone who brings something to the table that you don’t have.

Do you share the same vision as your partner? Even if you disagree about how to reach your goals, you need to be working toward the same objectives.   

Who Does What?

Before you ever start working together, define your roles. You don’t want to overlap. It’s not efficient and it can be confusing for your team. Iron out who has what job and you’ll work together much better.   

Work out how you’re going to communicate.

Problems will arise, but communication is the key to solving your issues. Determine how often you want to meet and how you’ll communicate. It seems obvious, but it’s often forgotten.
